WellShare’s work began overseas in the refugee camps in Southeast Asia. Since that time, we have trained/educated and placed hundreds of US health volunteers in Thailand, Nicaragua, Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania. We serve indigenous populations best by working closely with members of their own communities, as well as Ministries of health, local district teams, and health providers, to ensure quality, amd effective care.
We have significant on-the-ground experience related to HIV/AIDS, nutrition, malaria, and maternal and child health.
In Kenya, we have a decade of experience working on HIV/AIDS and maternal and child health projects.
In Uganda, we have 25 years of experience working on HIV/AIDS, malaria, and maternal and child health projects.
In Tanzania, we have made significant contacts with USAID, Ministry of Health officials, and numerous stakeholders.
In Uganda, Kenya, Nicaragua, and Tanzania, we have successfully implemented eight US-funded child survival projects.
In every country WellShare has worked with, WellShare has assisted local groups to continue health projects after it leaves. That focus on sustainability makes our community-based programs particularly effective.
